SHOTS 2020 Exhibition - Results

Well, the exhibition is done and has been a huge success. Out of 120 works by almost thirty photographers more than seventy prints have been sold, some in multiple copies.

I have sold six prints overall, one of “Misty Light”, two of “Winter in the Mall” and three of “Quite in the Fog”. I am rather pleased with the results and with the comments I have received from the public.

For example, a lady who bought “Winter in the Mall” print said that it reminded her of French paintings of boulevards of Paris. And that is exactly what my inspiration for this image was! No Paris this year, but the wet and winterly Perth Mall provided the scene, the light and my work was to capture it in such a way that would bring to mind the works of the great impressionists of XIX century. I am so happy people were able to see my work the way I wanted it to be seen!

And I came third in Public’s Choice Award, winning a huge photo backpack :)

SHOTS 2020 Exhibition

I have been so busy for the last few month! One of the projects was to get ready for the biannual exhibition held in Fremantle, WA by a group of local photographers. Local - with two exceptions, two photographers who had participated in earlier exhibitions are currently in New Zealand and Canada for various reasons.

Now the exhibition is open, its website is fully functional, you can have a look online or better still come down to Freo and enjoy the marvelous works of more than twenty photographers, and maybe buy a print or two. Most prints in the exhibition are limited edition prints and can be purchased online or in the gallery.

I have four works in the exhibition, each is a limited edition of 10 prints only. Two prints have been bought at the opening on 20 November, 2020.

And if you check out my Facebook page, most of my recent post are about SHOTS 2020!

THE CAT AND THE FIDDLE

Not quite the fiddle, but at a photo club competition last week two of my works have done pretty well.

Saphy the Cat got a Gold in Set Projected category, the theme was “Animal Portrait”. A typical cat, sitting bored during a photoshoot ;)

The second image got a Bronze in Monochrome Printed category.

"Lost in Music", a harpist busking in Perth CBD. I had used multiple long exposures to show hustle and bustle of a lunch time crowd around the young musician.
