SHOTS 2020 Exhibition - Results
Well, the exhibition is done and has been a huge success. Out of 120 works by almost thirty photographers more than seventy prints have been sold, some in multiple copies.
I have sold six prints overall, one of “Misty Light”, two of “Winter in the Mall” and three of “Quite in the Fog”. I am rather pleased with the results and with the comments I have received from the public.
For example, a lady who bought “Winter in the Mall” print said that it reminded her of French paintings of boulevards of Paris. And that is exactly what my inspiration for this image was! No Paris this year, but the wet and winterly Perth Mall provided the scene, the light and my work was to capture it in such a way that would bring to mind the works of the great impressionists of XIX century. I am so happy people were able to see my work the way I wanted it to be seen!
And I came third in Public’s Choice Award, winning a huge photo backpack :)
Winter in the Mall
I think this is one of my best images of 2020.
The inspiration came from XIX century impressionists’ paintings of romantic Parisian streets. To create it I have combined more than a dozen ICM photos taken on a winter afternoon in Perth, Western Australia. More than a dozen of shots, each being an ICM photo, were combined to produce the final image.
I love ICM and the painterly look it brings into a photo!
